Can God Help Me Overcome My Fears? | 1 Nephi 3-5

Have you ever been scared to do something that you knew you needed to do, but you did it anyway?

I think we have all faced moments like that, when we had to overcome our fears and follow God’s will because we knew it was the right thing to do.

When Nephi and his brothers were commanded to retrieve the brass plates from Laban, his brothers complained, saying the task was too hard.

They were right. The task was hard, and they didn’t know what the outcome would be.

But they did it anyway.

They exercised their faith in God, and He delivered them from their enemies and they retrieved the plates. Nephi testified that “the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them” (1 Nephi 3:7).

Sometimes God requires us to do hard things. But we can overcome our trials if we will put our trust in God, even if it seems hard or impossible.

How have you seen the Lord deliver you in your trials?
