Jake Dalton joins us to share his conversion story and it is SO COOL!! Jake has traveled the world, lived on the beach, and learned some powerful lessons.
0:44- Jake introduces himself. Jake loves music, goldfish, and surfing. Jake has been to 95 countries in his short 21 years of life!
2:00- Jake talks about his traveling adventures. He talks about meeting some incredible people who helped him learn new skills. One of his favorite countries is China where he experienced a completely different life.
4:45- Jake mentions his favorite take-away from traveling.
5:45- Jake starts sharing his faith story. He grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He talks about how, in his teenage years, he began to feel very lost. He noticed that his experiences were very different from those around him and he began questioning much of his life.
7:58- Jake talks about how he relied heavily on the beliefs of others. At this same time, he was traveling heavily and experiencing the difficulties in other countries.
9:00- Jake notices happiness outside of his faith. He starts learning about faiths outside of the Mormon faith. But he still didn’t feel full in other faiths.
13:12- Jake decided to double down on studying about the Church of Jesus Christ, despite not believing it would answer all of his questions.
14:15- Jake talks about living on the beach and having an incredible, ideal life.
15:35- Jake talks about feeling incredibly low one night. He saw that he was living “the dream” but felt horrible. He began to question why he wasn’t feeling happiness.
17:00- Jake talks about opening the Book of Mormon and finding a scripture that would change his life.
18:20- Jake serves a mission in Sweden.
